Ahead of Microsoft’s E3 press conference later today at 6pm it would seem that an Italian website has leaked what could turn out to be there big surprise, it would seem that the XBOX 360 is set to lose a couple of pounds and come out sporting a brand new body if the image of an XBOX 360 slim are to be believed. To be honest we really can not see this being a fake at all as talk of a slim version of the console have been floating around the net for a couple of months now.

E3
Microsoft has said that it’s preparing announcements for E3 that are bigger than last year's Natal reveal.

An e-mail that went out to Xbox.com users said:

"With the massive Project Natal announcement at last year's event, you'd think we'd find it hard to top that. Well, think again. This year at E3 we've got even BIGGER announcements to share with you."

Several reports suggest that Microsoft are planning on introducing 3D gaming to the Xbox 360, as the company said:

"3D games are available today on Xbox and will continue to evolve."

"You can buy a 3DTV and wear glasses to play games like Avatar and Batman: Arkham Asylum. Of course, as 3D adoption grows, we'll support more 3D games and entertainment, but the spotlight for Xbox 360 is focused on creating breakthrough social experiences that everyone can enjoy and play together."

We’ll let you know what events unfold at the Microsoft press conference at E3.

High Voltage have announced today that the sequel to their Wii exclusive title, The Conduit, will feature optional support for the Wii MotionPlus.

Funnily enough, the first Conduit games was originally designed to incorporate MotionPlus, but the developers decided to remove it as they thought it didn’t add anything to the gameplay.
The Conduit
Now they’ve decide to bring it back in The Conduit 2, saying that it will enhance general controller response. Although, why it’s optional to have it on beyond us.

The company have promised that they’ll do whatever’s necessary to make The Conduit 2 a successful game after the disappointing sales figures and review scores of the original.

The rumours of Dreamcast games appearing on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network have turned out to be true, as Sega have confirmed the news today.
Dreamcast
As expected, both Sonic Adventure and Cray Taxi will be among the first Dreamcast games to hit Microsoft’s and Sony’s online services, but when a spokesman from Sega was asked if more Dreamcast games would available form download he said:

"We can't comment on any future titles at this time, but Sega is very excited to be offering fans the chance to play Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi again on the current console systems. Stay tuned for more information after E3."

Many fans of the Dreamcast have been hoping to see Shenmue re-released, but we’d much rather see Chu Chu Rocket make an appearance on XBLA and PSN.

What classic Dreamcast game would you like to see on XBLA and PSN? Let us know in the comments below.

Tomonobu Itagaki, the man behind Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, will be unveiling his latest project on US television channel, Spike TV.

The unknown game, developed by Itagaki’s very own Valhalla Games Studio, will be revealed tomorrow 8:30pm Pacific Time in America (12:30pm in the UK).
Tomonobu Itagaki
No information has been leaked about the secret project so far, so we have no idea what his next game will be. All we know is that Itagaki’s former bosses at Tecmo Koei wish him the best of luck.

Warner Bros. Has announced that a brand new Mortal Kombat game will be coming out next year… and ‘no’, it doesn’t anything to do with the live-action trailer that was plastered all over You Tube a couple of days ago.

Being developed by NetherRealm studios (formally known as WB Games Chicago) Mortal Kombat 2011 will be released on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 and promises to be the “most brutal instalment” in the franchises long running history.
Mortal Kombat 2011
A press release from Warner Bros. Read:

"[Mortal Kombat 2011] marks a triumphant return to the series' mature presentation and a reinvention of its classic 2D fighting mechanic."

"Driven by an all new graphics engine, the fan favourite Fatality is back and presented in more gory detail than ever before. In addition, Mortal Kombat introduces a number of new game-play features including tag team and the deepest story mode of any fighting game."

Series co-creator, Ed Boon commented on the new game, saying:

"We can't wait for players to get their hands on Mortal Kombat. This game really is a response to what players have been demanding: mature presentation, reinvented 2D fighting mechanic and the best, most gruesome fatalities ever!"

It nice to see that Mortal Kombat is going back to it’s 2D roots (thanks to Street Fighter IV, no doubt). We can’t wait to see what the game has in store for us. FINISH HIM!

Namco Bandai
Namco Bandai’s Olivier Comte claimed that the current software market for both the DS and Wii has ‘collapsed’ due to piracy and poor titles.

Talking to MCV, Comte said:

"We had a lot of product, and the average quality of a game on DS and Wii is very, very bad. So in the mind of the consumer today, to buy a DS or Wii game is to buy a game that isn't very good."

"One of the reasons the DS collapsed is piracy, it is very clear, but also it is a fantastic machine and very easy to develop for. It was possible for three kids in a garage to make a game for it.”

"DS is the most successful platform ever, but all my kids' friends at school have a DS with an R4. They have 100 games for no money. So yes, the market has collapsed for the DS and Wii."

We can understand that Namco Bandai are pissed off about the piracy issue, but as for the ‘average quality’ comment? Well, maybe Namco Bandai could help out on the situation by not making awful games for Nintendo consoles.

Psychology
We love reading about various scientific studies regarding video games, mainly because they are always so stupid and are quick to blame video games for just about everything. But not anymore.

According to a special video game edition of the Review of General Psychology, it was revealed that ‘maladaptive personalities’ played a bigger role in video game violence.

The study said:

"Although many youths who have engaged in violent school rampages were video game players, most also possessed maladaptive personality traits and characteristics."

"Given that 45.7 million American homes have at least one video game console, it is clear that most children who play these games do not go on to behave in violent or murderous ways."

"School violence attributed to violent media has involved shooters who were described by themselves and others as extremely angry, mean, depressed, psychotic, unruly, anxious, aggressive, and hateful before the shootings occurred."

Finally! Someone who knows what he or she is talking about.
