PC gamers will be disappointed to hear that EA’s Dead Space 2 will not be making it’s way onto their desktop.

Although the games won’t be making it’s way on to the PC, EA failed to explain why. We’d guess that it has something to do with the first one not selling enough copies.
Dead Space
When ask about the decision to make Dead Space a console-only title, EA simply replied with:

"As of right now a PC sku is not in the plan."

The game isn’t due until 2011 so EA could still change their minds, but chances are that they won’t. Sorry PC fans.

Here’s a story about a dumbass who got what was coming to him. A pirate who illegally copied and uploaded the first New Super Mario Bros. Wii game file to the internet has been ordered to pay Nintendo $1.5 million in damages.

The file was made available for illegal download worldwide on November 6, 2009, a week ahead of the game's official Australian launch.
Video Game Piracy
The damages payment was awarded by an Australian Federal Court to compensate Nintendo for the loss of sales revenue, even though the game sold 10 million copies worldwide in just eight weeks.

"Nintendo has been working to combat piracy for approximately 20 years," said the big N.

"Piracy is a significant threat to Nintendo's business, as well as over 1,400 game development companies working to provide unique and innovative games for the Nintendo platform. The existence of piracy jeopardises the strength of the video game industry overall."

Here’s a piece of advice for you, kids: Don’t pirate games, otherwise Nintendo will ‘F’ you in the ‘A’ 1.5 million times.

We can’t understand why Polyphony Digital decided to reveal the lifetime figures of it’s Gran Turismo series. We can only assume that they were bored at the time and wanted to make themselves feel important.

Anyway, since it's release back in December, 1997 Gran Turismo has grown to become one the most realistic and enjoyable driving games of all time. The series has notched up over 50 million sales worldwide so far. Gran Turismo 3 was even the best selling driving/racing game ever, until last year when it was beaten by Mario Kart Wii.
Gran Turismo
With the release of GT5 round the corner, we can expect sales for the series to grow even further and could perhaps set or break world records.

Worldwide Sales Figures
Gran Turismo - 10.85 million
Gran Turismo 2 - 9.37 million
Gran Turismo 3 A-spec - 14.89 million
Gran Turismo Concept Series - 1.56 million
Gran Turismo 4 "Prologue" - 1.35 million
Gran Turismo 4 - 10.98 million
Gran Turismo 5 "Prologue" - 4.65 million
Gran Turismo PSP - 1.80 million

Total - 55.45 million

Shigeru Miyamoto
The legendary Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that he is working on a brand new MotionPlus title, and it isn’t the new Zelda game.

After receiving a Special Achievement Award at the 13th Annual Japan Media Arts Festival, Miyamoto told the audience that he had begun work on the new MotionPlus title.

So far, the only Nintendo developed games to utilise the peripheral is Wii Sports Resort and the upcoming Legend of Zelda title.

Perhaps it’ll be a new Mario game like Party or Golf, or it could be a return of another franchise such as F-Zero or StarFox, or it could be something utterly crap. Anyone like the sound of WiiCleaning?

Valentines Day is almost here, folks and to celebrate Media Molecule is releasing a set of costumes for your Sackboy.

Media Molecule is also bringing out a Chinese New Yew costume pack which will give you two outfits for free! Now that sound like a better deal to us.

Both DLC pack will be up on the PS Store this Thursday, but hurry because they’ll be gone of February 25th. Actually, don’t bother. Just save your money for something… better.

Either this is an early April Fools joke or we’ve somehow entered an alternate reality because, according to UK magazine NGamer, Sonic the Hedgehog will be appearing in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

The news came via the magazines Twitter page. They said:

“We've just had some shocking news from an inside source at Nintendo: Sonic will be a playable character in Mario Galaxy 2! Wha?”

“More teasing from our insider: Sonic levels will be in 'Green Hill Galaxy'. Matthew's nearly in tears (of despair)”

The team at NGamer ‘claim’ that their info was given to them “from a trusted source” but out BS alarm just went off.
Super Mario Galaxy 2
It sounds like a really cool idea if the blue hedgehog really is going to be in Mario’s next adventure, and we’ve always dreamed about a Mario & Sonic platform game (as if Sonic 4 wasn‘t enough already), but we’ll believe it when we see it.

Bungie has released a statement saying that they are deeply saddened about the original Xbox Live service coming to an end.

Microsoft broke the news last week about the original Xbox Live, saying that as of April 15th the service will be shutdown for good. It also applies to any original Xbox game being played through the Xbox 360.

Halo 2 multiplayer
"We're all saddened at the realization that an era is coming to an end but looking back, we're incredibly fortunate to have had such a great run and such strong support from our fans." said the Halo developers.

"Halo 2 has been at or near the top of the Xbox Live charts for original games since it launched over five years ago. We're extremely thankful to everyone who has played, enjoyed and supported Halo 2 over Xbox Live. We've had some great fun together, including far too many humpday losses to even recount.”

"That said, mark your calendars now - on April 14th let's all rally to go online for one last hoorah. One final farewell and one final opportunity for all of you to kick our asses at Halo 2."

It is, indeed, the end of an era for so many gamers, but all things must come to an end. Besides, we’ll forget all about Halo 2’s multiplayer when Reach comes out.

"The Lego Star Wars franchise is a massive hit with fans, bringing in sales of over 20 million units worldwide. We're thrilled to extend this experience to Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, delivering the humour and fun players expect from this award winning franchise."

The director at TT Games, Tom Stone also commented on the game, saying:

"LucasArts is an amazing partner, and working with them on the next iteration of the Lego Star Wars series continues to be a great experience. The team at TT is working hard at making this simply the best Lego game ever with all new gameplay and features never before seen in a Lego game."

We really enjoyed the first two Lego Star Wars games, but we think that this is scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Bring out Battlefront 3, LucasArts. That’s what we really want.

Watch out, Pokemon fans because a brand new 5th Generation Pokemon will be revealed in two weeks, according to the Japanese show Pokemon Sunday.

We’ll find out who is new creature is on February 21st, but we’ll keep speculating until then.

Microsoft has announced that the original Xbox Live service, which launched back in November, 2002 will be closing down on April 15th.
Xbox Live
Microsoft’s director of planning, Larry Hryb (a.k.a Major Nelson) announced the news on his personal blog earlier today, saying:

"I wanted to let you know that on April 15, 2010 Microsoft will discontinue Xbox Live service for original Xbox consoles and games, including Xbox 1 games playable on Xbox 360.”

"Our first step in this process will be to turn off auto-renewals for those members who only use Xbox Live on a v1 Xbox."

"While I can't comment on the specifics, this change will allow us to continue evolving the Live service with new features and experiences that fully harness the power of Xbox 360 and the Xbox Live community.”

"We did not make this decision lightly, but after careful consideration and review we realize that this decision will allow us unprecedented flexibility for future features."

"The best is yet to come, and we look forward to sharing more details in the near future."

No more sessions of Halo 2 or Street Fighter III online anymore, then.
