Nintendo has confirmed that the new Nintendo 3DS will be playable at E3.

In yesterday‘s announcement, Nintendo said that additional details would be announced at the games show which takes place in June; but chief spokesman, Ken Toyoda has confirmed that members of the press will be able to get their hands on the new 3D handheld.

Toyoda explained why Nintendo decided to announce the 3DS before E3.

"We wanted to give the gaming industry a head's up about what to expect from Nintendo at E3. We'll invite people to play with the new device then."
