Nintendo legend, Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed that Pikmin 3's development is "well under way."
The creator of Mario, Link and Donkey Kong broke the news to the Official Nintendo Magazine in the UK following his acceptance of the Fellowship Award at last night's BAFTA games awards ceremony.
The magazine‘s Twitter page announced:
"ONM is at the BAFTA’s! Miyamoto just told us Pikmin 3 development is 'well under way'."

With the re-releases of both Pikmin 1 and 2 it was pretty obvious to anyone with an IQ higher than a monkey that a third game in the series was inevitable. But what could we be seeing in the third game that we haven’t already experienced in the previous two?
