Here’s a nice, short piece of news for you. Apparently, Microsoft Game Studios creative boss, Ken Lobb is a fan of the Killer Instinct games and admitted that he would "love" to see a new entry.

"I love KI. We want to make KI. We aren't working on it today. Someday we will bring back KI," said Lobb.
Killer Instinct
Even if a Killer Instinct 3 isn't in the works, there's nothing stopping Rare or Microsoft from bringing the first two games onto Xbox Live Marketplace. Still, we’d prefer to have a third instalment and killer Ultra Combos and C-C-Combo Breakers!

Looks like Satoru Iwata was telling the truth, a few months ago, when he mention the DS’s successor having motion control, because news of DS 2 development kits has been leaked.

Nintendo are handing out the dev kits to a handful of selected developers in Japan, one of which is The Pokemon Company.

An anonymous tipster at The Pokemon Company has revealed that the new DS 2 will have motion sensing technology built-in. Similar to the iPhone.
DS Lite
However, Nintendo informed him that it was merely the first version of what will become the finished product. The big N is asking those using the hardware for feedback.

"It's genuinely the best thing I think I've ever worked with," said the tipster. "I can tell you that it's got a 'tilt' function that's not dissimilar to iPhone, but does a lot more. We know that The Pokemon Company are getting special attention with it."

Unsurprisingly, a Nintendo representative said today that they wouldn't comment on "rumour or speculation".

So there you have it, a brand new DS console will be making it’s way to us soon, along with a new Pokemon game too. Guess there’s no need to buy a DSi then.

We never saw this one coming, but Capcom have announced that Street Fighter IV is going to be released on the iPhone.

According to IGN, Capcom haven’t rushed the development of the game either. The company
took months to come up with a suitable control scheme for a platform with no physical buttons, by using a virtual pad and move buttons to recreate the arcade stick right on the touchscreen.
Capcom have also expressed interest in bringing the critically acclaimed beat ‘em up to the PSP. Whatever next? The Wii?

Visually, the game looks great and closely resembles the console versions of SFIV. We might have a good reason to buy an iPhone now.

Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama as officially announced that there are currently no plans for any downloadable content for Square Enix’s latest game.
Final Fantasy XIII
Speaking on the official PlayStation Blog, Toriyama said:

"Regarding the DLC content, we feel that the final product is 100% enjoyable...it's the complete package. So we're not planning any DLC at this time."

"In regard to the rumoured cut content, we feel it was taken out of context. There are a lot of ideas that are brought to the table, and then the team takes the best ideas out of those, and the final product is polished that way. There was content that were 'ideas' that didn't make the final content, but the team isn't looking to release that as downloadable content."

Tough luck, Final Fantasy fans. Perhaps some other time.

Sonic Classic Collection
Yet another compilation of Sonic the Hedgehog’s Mega Drive games will be coming out, and this time it for the DS.

Sonic Classic Collection will be released on March 12th for the Nintendo DS. The collection will feature all of Sonic’s classic Mega Drive adventures - Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.

It’s pretty impressive that Sega have managed to squeeze all four games onto a single DS card, but how many time can you re-package and re-sell games that are over 15 years old? Well, we guess that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Kenn Lobb, executive producer for Perfect Dark has revealed it could get some extra downloadable content following release:

“That’s something we’ve talked about, but it comes down to the audience reaction. One of the things we speced out was DLC, it would probably be new maps and it would be interesting to do a couple of new guns.”

“We wanted to make it fast and fun and we nailed that. We didn’t want to change the geometry. We’re not trying to spend $40 million to make a remake, it’s an XBLA game."

“The weapons and character models are ten to 20 times the poly count of the original game and yet they look good in the original background geometry. The team did a great job of rezing up to a point that it doesn’t feel like a ten year old game but keeping it fitting in the graphic’s geometry we had."

“I liked Perfect Dark Zero a lot, but with PDZ we messed with the controls, we tried to do something that was like Prefect Dark hybridized with Halo and it was a mistake."

“So this time we went straight, let’s make it feel like Perfect Dark.”

So if you where hanging on to buy a PS3 with Final Fantasy XIII looks like you will have to buy them both separately and miss out on a cardboard box that will sit up in your loft.

With 3D movies growing in popularity it was only a matter of time before it was adapted for use in gaming and for once this generation Sony are leading the way (though really only by default as there the only ones who all so make TV’s), Sony are hoping to bring the 3D experience to the PS3 this summer which is all so purely by chance the same time that they are releasing there brand new 3D LCD HDTV’s. It is expected that the full 3D experience will arrive on the console in two separate updates; one for 3D gaming and the other update for 3D video.

Another game that PC gamers have been looking forward has bit the dust and is destined to be a console only title.

Alan Wake is the latest game to miss out on a PC release, along with yesterdays announcement of Dead Space 2.
Alan Wake
Microsoft released a statement regarding the news, saying:

"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience Alan Wake was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive."

"Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform."

Is this such a wide decision? Well, Microsoft seem to think so, but we think that the PC gaming community would say otherwise.
