The long awaited next instalment in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise “Sonic The Hedgehog 4” an episodic title for PSN / XBLA / WiiWare has been delayed till late 2010 due to SEGA wanting more development time.

Rockstar have just released a multiplayer patch today for Read Dead Redemption that aims to fix some of the bugs that have popped up in the game since it came in the USA earlier this week, the patch aims to fix the problem of the players horse / gun / avatar and in deed opponents avatar from disappearing during a game.

Rockstar:

“We have just deployed a fix that should address the issues some people have been experiencing in Red Dead Redemption online multiplayer. This fix should address a specific issue that was found where the player's multiplayer avatar, their horse or their weapons would occasionally not be visible in multiplayer games as well as an issue that some players were experiencing where they would lose connection to the various multiplayer modes.”
Red Dead Redemption
Red Dead Redemption is out today in the UK (or earlier in the week if you reordered if from certain internet sites).

There’s no stopping the run-away train that is Modern Warfare 2. Even with the high price tag, the Stimulus Package DLC has proven to be just as popular on the PlayStation Network as it was on XBLA.

The Stimulus Package has sold over 1 million downloads so far and has broken both ‘Day1’ and ‘Week 1’ records on PSN.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling Tweeted:

Don’t forget that the next DLC for Modern Warfare 2, The Resurgence Package, will be out on June 3rd. So saving your pocket money up now.

Hideo Kojima
Hideo Kojima and Yoji Tonkawa (MGS art director) will be coming to London to take part in the UK launch of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Both Kojima and Tonkawa will be signing exclusive inlays at HMV's flagship store on Oxford Street, London from 4pm to 6pm. Their next stop will be London's UNIQLO store (also on Oxford Street) from 11am to 1pm the following day. They'll be signing copies of the game and limited edition postcards to celebrate UNIQLO's brand new, exclusive range of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker inspired T-shirts. Be sure to pick one up at the event, since each shirt comes with a code that will unlock the item within the game itself.

Let’s just hope that volcanic doesn’t ruin this launch party like it did with the release of Capcom’s Monster Hunter Tri.

Following on from last weeks report on a new teaser website from Sega, the company has now officially announced that Virtual-On Force will be coming soon on Xbox 360.
Virtual-On Force
Virtual-On Force is a sequel to the Xbox Live Arcade title Virtual-On Oratorio (which was a re-make of the original Arcade and Sega Saturn game), and features a two-on-two style gameplay where players can face-off against their friends locally or online. Force will also have a single-player campaign mode.

The game will be getting a full retail release, but there hasn’t been any news of a release date.

We know that a lot of people were expecting the teaser website to reveal a new Shenmue or Jet Set Radio, but if you ask us Virtual-On Force is just as good.

Virgin Interactive
In some rather surprising news, Virgin are expected to be at this years E3 in Los Angeles.

British entertainment industry magazine, MCV claim that none other than Richard Branson be at a Virgin launch event at E3. The magazine said:

“The new gaming service rumoured to launch at E3 will seek partnerships with leading publishers and content owners, offering new and unique opportunities... [we] understand that the new video games venture will be online-only and again challenge-based, possibly built on a technology acquisition.”

Virgin dropped out of the games industry in 1999 when most of their assets were purchased by French company Titus Software; but they did publish some pretty great games including Command & Conquer and Cannon Fodder. They even publish popular Capcom games like Dino Crisis, Devil May Cry and even Resident Evil.

We’re crossing our fingers, hoping that Virgin will come back to the world of videogames. Mainly because we want to see a new Cool Spot game.

It would seem that Ubisoft are set to take a leaf out of EA’s play book by introducing a one time only code to access a games multiplayer and online aspects if brought brand new, where as some one buying the same product a few months later second hand would have to fork out and extra $10 to access the same features due to the previous owner using the code.

Ubisoft:

“We are looking very carefully at what is being done by EA regarding what we call the $10 solution and we will probably follow that line at some time in the future”
Ubisoft and the second hand market
Ok we had a go at EA the other week for instigating this crap and now we are having ago at you Ubisoft, if you want to charge people to play online go make your own console and charge for it, this is totally unacceptable and we here at VGS can only hope that the console manufactures jump in and take control of this before it gets out of hand, for a lot of gamers especially the younger ones out there the second hand market is the only way that they can afford these titles and to charge them a second time to play online is totally out of order.

UBISOFT
French based games studio Ubisoft have just posted an operationg loss of just over £51 million ( 60 million).

Yves Guillemot Ubisoft CEO:

“Ubisoft's sales were hit particularly hard, falling 18% over the full year despite a stabilization in the second half of the year, when figures came in on a par with the corresponding period of 2008-09. This overall contraction in sales, combined with additional write-downs recorded for games already launched as well as for upcoming releases, led to a 60 M€ operating loss”

But just so its not all doom and gloom the studio did all so see a growth of 1.9% year-on-year with increased sales revenue during the forth quarter of the fiscal year, 210 million up from the previous year of 206 million due to higher then predicted sales of title such as Assassins Creed 2 and Just Dance.
