Did you know that there is a Lost Planted movie currently in development? If the answer is ‘no’ then shame on you. (it was announced at last years E3).

Turns out that the voice of Solid Snake and the co-writer of the Watchmen film, David Hayter, is working on the screenplay, but Lost Planet 2’s producer
Jun Takeuchi has said that the movie won’t be based on the same storyline as the original Lost Planet or it‘s sequel.

"[There] probably [won't be] so much of a reference to this particular title [Lost Planet 2]. However, the only thing I know is those people working on the project that they love the world of Lost Planet. So, we know that they’re going to utilize that world, but as far as the story line goes, the movie is completely different from the game."

We’ve also discovered that the creator of Mega Man, Keiji Inafune, will be involved with the films development as-well-as the development for Lost Planet 2 which is due for Xbox 360 and PS3 in February 2010.

'My movie better not go down the same path as Resident Evil'

Some crazy news for you now. According to the Australian Classification Board, Left 4 Dead 2 has been refused classification, meaning that the gamers down-under won’t be able to enjoy killing zombies with the rest of us.

The ACB claim that they are protecting gamers from the “high impact violence” in Valve’s eagerly anticipated sequel.

The ACB’s report says:

- The game contains violence that is high in impact and is therefore unsuitable for persons aged under 18 to play.

- Melee weapons "inflict the most damage" and cause "copious amounts of blood spray and splatter (sic), decapitations and limb dismemberment... or even cause intestines to spill from the wounds."

- In conclusion, the Board finds that the "interactive nature of the game increases the overall impact of the frequent and intense depictions of violence. This coupled with the graphic depictions of blood and gore combine to create a playing impact which is high.

Perhaps there’s a part in the game that we don’t know about? Maybe you have to kill an infected Kangaroo, or something…. Tough luck, Australia.

After yesterday’s announcements of the Halo and Modern Warfare 2 bundles, Microsoft have announced a third Xbox 360 bundle which will include a copy of Forza Motorsport 3.

But this isn’t just any old run-of-the-mill bundle we’re talking about. This is the Super Elite bundle. The box will include an Xbox 360 Elite console, two controllers, a standard copy of Forza Motorsport 3 and a 250Gb hard drive, all for the price of 249.99.

It’s basically the same as the Modern Warfare 2 bundle, but with Forza 3 and without a custom designed console.

It’s due out on October 23rd.

The Geordie duo will be on our television sets once again, but it’s not another series of their crappy Saturday night show (sorry, lads) but, instead, a series of adverts for Nintendo.

The pair will be hitting out screen on October 16th where they’ll be going across the UK in order to meet and challenge Nintendo fans and families to games such at Mario Kart Wii, Professor Layton and the Curious Village and Wii Sports. The British public will be given the change to appear in the adverts, alongside Ant & Dec,
following a national recruitment campaign looking for genuine fans of Nintendo titles.

Ant commented on the arrangement, saying:

"I have always been a massive fan of Nintendo consoles. I loved my Nintendo 64 growing up. Mario Kart 64 was my favourite, it kept Dec and I entertained for hours during the PJ and Duncan years! Even today when I play Mario Kart on my Wii, I have a lucky steering wheel at home that's only mine to use!!"

Dec added:

"We're really excited to be working with Nintendo. The TV shows we make are for the whole family to watch together, and Nintendo make games that the whole family can play together, so it's the perfect match. The Donnelly family and I are big fans of Wii Sports and I am always challenging my nieces and nephews to games, I especially enjoy trying to get one over on them in an energetic game of baseball!"

David Yarnton, Nintendo UK's general manager, says:

"Given Ant and Dec's popularity with everyone from grandparents to grand children and with the broad appeal of Nintendo's products from ages five to 95, we knew they'd make the perfect partner for the brand. Nintendo has helped introduce a whole new group of people to the joys of gaming and we can't wait to see Ant and Dec bring some of their natural charm and wit to Nintendo families up and down the country."

Ant & Dec join the likes of Patrick Stewart, Julie Walters, Girls Aloud and Fern Britton who have all been in previous Nintendo adverts. Lucky them. Oh! And we bet that we could beat Ant McPartlin at Mario Kart Wii any day of the week, so if you’re reading this, Mr. McPartlin, bring it on!
Ant & Dec
Well, they're not wrong

Nintendo of Europe held a media summit in London today where they were revealing a whole bunch of new games coming out on both WiiWare and DSiWare, such as LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias and the Aardman Flipnote Studio Animations.

But the best news that came out of the summit was Nintendo’s announcement of the ‘Connection Ambassador Promotion’ for loyal fans of WiiWare and Virtual Console titles, which will start in October. Here’s how the promotion works:

People who encourage their friends and family to connect their Wii online will be given the title of ‘Ambassador’ and will receive 500 points along with the person who they helped get connected, so it’s a win-win situation for both people. The maximum amount of people that an ‘Ambassador’ can help get online is 20, which means they can earn a maximum of 10,000 points to spent on whatever they want.

That sounds really good, but it gets better. If you manage to help 10 people get connected you’ll be promoted to ‘Connection Master Gold’, which means that you’ll be able to download all Nintendo first-party NES for free. But, if you help 20 people then you’ll attain ‘Connection Master Platinum’ status, which will allow you to download all first and third-party NES, SNES and N64 games for free!

That sounds like a great idea, but here’s the problem: how many people do you know that have a Wii but don’t have it connected to the internet? Maybe two or three; but how the Hell are we supposed to convince 20 people to connect their Wii to the internet, let alone 10?! Looks like we’re gonna’ have to roam the streets and ask random strangers if they have a Wii…at, which point, the police will probably show up.

We don’t know just why they did it, but, for some reason, Activision have slapped on the word ‘Reflex’ at the end of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare which is due out on November 10th on the Wii.

It’s seem kind of weird, given the fact that ‘Modern Warfare’ is already a subtitle to ‘Call of Duty 4’. So what we’re looking at, with ‘Reflex’, is a sub-subtitle. Weird.

The game is being developed by Treyarch who previously developed Call of Duty: World at War, as-well-as all of the Wii CoD titles. But, let’s be honest, no-one gives a crap about this game. We’re all looking forward to Modern Warfare 2, right?

Microsoft have confirmed that they will be releasing a limited edition, custom designed, Modern Warfare 2 Elite console.

The bundle comes with the custom designed Elite console, two controllers, a standard copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and a massive 250Gb hard drive. Currently the bundle is only available to pre-order in the US, but we’ll let you know if Microsoft decide to release it in Europe.

Will it be release over here? We hope so
But if Modern Warfare isn’t your thing, then you might be interested in this: Microsoft are also releasing a Halo bundle. This one will come with an Xbox 360 Elite, one controller, 120Gb hard drive and copies of Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST along with access to the Halo Reach beta (which comes with ODST anyway).

So far the bundle is only confirmed for Europe and will cost 280 Euros (about £250) and will be released later this month.

Inside this box is pure goodness
Looks like you’ll all have to very good boys and girls to get either of these off Santa this Christmas.

Oh, God. We’ve just heard that there will be a sequel to the Silent Hill movie. What we want to know is why?

Both the screenwriter, Roger Avary, and producer, Samuel Hadida, from the first film have signed their papers for the sequel and will start filming next year as soon as the fourth Resident Evil film is finished… Wait! There’s a fourth one now?

Earlier this year actress Radha Mitchell said that director Christophe Gans will, most likely, not be on board for Silent Hill 2.

"[It’s] a shame because he's a nutter but he's so passionate about the game. I think he should do it if they do it again."

The first film, released back in 2006, was terrible. Everything about it was terrible. God only knows how it managed to make $47 million in the US.

Normally, we’d tell you that we’ll be keeping you posted on this topic, but this time we won’t, because we honestly don’t give a shit about a new Silent Hill movie which is bound to suck. The only reason we’re telling you this is because we want you to convince every single person you meet, from now on, to not go and see this movie. Understood?

Shane Kim
Microsoft have announced that Shane Kim will retire from the company at the end of this year.

The 46-year-old is currently the
corporate vice president for strategy and business development at Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, but he used to be the head of Microsoft Game Studio until last year when he took the strategy and business job. Phil Spencer, former European manager and the man who replaced Kim as the new studio boss, will now be promoted to corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios.

Xbox senior vice president, Don Mattrick, said:

"Shane's been an instrumental leader in the evolution of Microsoft Game Studios and the Xbox business -- from the early days of Flight Simulator and Golf to the launch of the original Xbox, to the successful launches for two of the biggest entertainment franchises in the industry -- Halo and Gears of War.”

"Shane's passion for this business and industry runs deep and he will be dearly missed. Having dedicated the last two decades to Microsoft, Shane is eager to make up for lost time with his family and friends."

Kim, who has been with Microsoft for 19 years, plans to spend more time with his family in Redmond and possibly spending more time on his Wii -- er… we mean 360, of course.

EA have announced today that a third instalment of the popular 'Skate' series will be making it’s way onto the Xbox 360 and PS3 in May 2010.

This time around, the focus of the game will be toward co-op play where you and a friend (or friends) can team up to complete challenges together and compete against rival crews whilst progressing through the games Career Mode.

Skate 3 will take place in an all-new skater paradise known as Port Carverton. No doubt there will be a lot of conveniently ‘skater-friendly’ buildings, parks and streets.

The third game in the series boasts that it will “raise the bar” of their in-depth ‘skate.Create’ mode, which will allow players to not only create their own videos and skate parks, but also their own graphics. Senior Producer, Jason Delong said:

"The social and community aspects of the SKATE franchise are something we've always embraced, but we've never done anything to the scale you're going to see in SKATE 3."

"We're giving gamers a very unique experience by providing them with the tools they need to build their ultimate team or to create a team comprised entirely of their online friends. From there, it's all about proving yourself - teaming up, and throwing down."

EA also announced that if you pre-order Skate 3 (when available) you will get the "Black Box Distribution Skate Park" as a bonus.
